May 3 – First-Wednesday Bird Walk at Chatfield Bird-Banding Station

  • May 3, 2017
    6:30 am - 11:30 am

All ages welcome! Join Chuck Aid for our First-Wednesday Bird Walk on May 3, from 6:30 to 11:30 AM. We will begin the morning at the Bird Conservancy of the Rockies bird-banding station at Chatfield, where we will have the opportunity to see several species in-the-hand and learn about their migratory behavior. We will then spend time birding along the South Platte in Chatfield State Park.

Audubon’s and Myrtle Warblers (c) Bill Schmoker

Bring water and a snack, and meet at the Evergreen Library at 6:30, or if you would rather you can meet us at the Denver Audubon Nature Center (details provided to registrants). You will not need a Colorado State Park’s pass for parking at the Nature Center, however there will be a charge of $5 per person for visiting the banding station.

These walks are for Evergreen Audubon members and their guests. Non-members won’t be turned away, but will be encouraged to join Evergreen Audubon. You must register here to attend this event.  If you are registering for more than one person, please enter each person separately.  Our event is filled when we have 12 registrants, as this helps prevent us from overbooking our walks. Thanks!
